Service Description
As the tide recedes, the mudflats pave way to a vast grassy plain beneath the surface. Seagrasses are often mistaken for seaweed, but they're more related to the flowering plants we have on land! While the seagrasses in the intertidal zones are only as tall as your ankle, to the animals that live within, it’s a dense forest that they call home. Come with us to venture across this unique ecosystem and discover the critters hidden in plain sight. If your eyes are sharp enough, you might find nudibranchs, cuttlefish, octopus, crabs, and corals! Experience the thrill of discovery and learn how these animals navigate their life in the shallows. The 2–3-hour walk is slow and easy, suitable for both kids and adults. You will be walking on rocky, sandy, and muddy substrate, sometimes in knee deep water (but not more than that!). Equipment like booties and flashlights will be provided! All you have to do is show up.
Cancellation Policy
Booking policy: All bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled walk. A minimum of 2 is required for the walk to proceed. If this number is not met, the walk may be rescheduled or refunded. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your spot. Cancellation policy: More than 48 hours notice: Full refund or option to reschedule to another date. 24–48 hours notice: No refunds, one-time reschedule permitted. Less than 24 hours notice or no-show: No refund will be issued, as guides and resources are pre-arranged. Weather and safety: Walks may be cancelled or rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions (e.g., storms, bushfire danger, flooding). Insufficient participants: If minimum numbers are not met, participants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and offered a full refund or alternative date. Participant Responsibility: Participants must arrive by the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may not be accommodated and are considered no-shows.
